My Story

I'm one of six riders Hospice Africa has entered in RideLondon 2022 on 29th May, a 100-mile loop heading east into Essex from London and finishing on Tower Bridge.

Hospice Africa was founded by Dr Anne Merriman in 1993 with the vision "Palliative care for all in need in Africa" and provides affordable, holistic, sustainable and culturally appropriate end of life care and education services from its base in Kampala, Uganda. It has treated more than 37,000 patients, trained more than 10,000 clinicians, and helped facilitate the growth of palliative care in Africa from 3 countries in 1993 to 33 countries in 2022.  I've been supporting Hospice Africa from its inception and after joining the board in 2014 have been Chair of Hospice Africa UK since September 2021. 96% of funds raised in UK will go directly to supporting vital palliative care clincial and educational services in Africa.
