My Story

In the last two years many of us have had to adapt and face difficulties we could not have foreseen. Now for many of us the cost of living crisis is making our lives even more challenging.

So when I was offered a place by the Rainy Day Trust for Ride London to cycle 100 miles in 8 hours I jumped at the chance; not only is it a great cycling challenge and I can help raise money for a charity that can make a real difference to those who are struggling right now.

Many of my team came to work during the lockdowns putting themselves and their families at risk to help serve their local communities; I consider all shop workers to be the unsung heroes of the pandemic.

The Rainy Day Trust charity cares for people who work or have worked in the industry I love and have worked in for most of my adult life. I want to raise awareness of the support that the Rainy Day Trust can give to past and present employees of the Housewares, Pottery & Glass, Hardware Brush, DIY, Builders Merchant and Garden supply trades since 1843. This includes financial support, legal advice, housing advice and training.

With your support we can help those who are struggling right now. Your donation will make a real difference to people’s futures and receive my heartfelt gratitude.
