My Story

It was a sunny day in mid-April and I was writing on the balcony when I received a message. "I have put our names forward to do a charity bike ride for Leukeamia Busters around London in late May," it said. "Which date?", I responded, confused by the out of the blue message. "May 29th," the reply came back. Alright, I thought, I'm not busy that day, how hard can it be. "How far?" I asked. "60 miles." Alright, I thought, I'm probably fit enough to cycle that far, how hard can it be.

A week later I looked up the ride and discovered to my dismay it is in fact 100 miles. Cheers, mate. I have never cycled that far, I have had six weeks to train (and been on holiday for three of them), and I have not ridden a bike properly since fracturing my ribs in an accident in January.

So whether you think I'm going to pass with flying colours (haha) or fail spectacularly please do consider donating your spare change to support Leukeamia Busters whom I am riding in aid of. They do fantastic work helping to save chlidren affected by Leukeamia through research in Southampton General Hospital. And... if you can't spare anything, please pray for me and my legs instead.
