My Story

My dear sweet eldest grandson Jake was diagnosed with Type1 Diabetes last Autumn, when he was still just 8 years old. He's coping amazingly well and is so brave, as he and his family have become immersed in this new world of constant monitoring of insulin levels and injections throughout the day. The support from his local Diabetes team is fantastic, and the technology available to help his condition is very welcome. We know that this is part of his life now, and hope that the research and related technology continue to advance to help him and the many others like him to thrive.
