Adoption UK is the leading charity providing support, community and advocacy for all those whose lives involve adoption, including those parenting children who cannot live with their birth families, and adopted people. We connect people, provide support and training and campaign for improvements to adoption policy and practice. We provide a strong, supportive community and are the largest voice of adopters in the UK. Many of today’s adopted children have suffered violence, neglect and abuse in their birth families, with lasting impacts on their relationships, development, physical and mental health. Long-term, robust post adoption support is essential if adopted children are to flourish and their adoptive and kinship care families are able to provide the loving support and care which they so desperately need.  Adoption UK’s  strategy not only builds upon the excellent work that we have undertaken in the last fifty years but provides an exciting platform for us to provide new and innovative services in the future. At the centre of our work will always be the children who are unable to stay with their parents. We will continue to support, advocate for and defend the rights of children and adults who have experienced the care system and their adopted and kinship care families. We will be determined in our goals and provide an even stronger and more urgent voice for the adoptive and kinship care community.
